What kind of dog do you recommend? I have school for 8 hours and parents are at work.?

an average family home. i thinking of Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, but it might be too long to be out. what would you recommend?
Answers:
None.
That's too long.

As for the other posters.
DON'T LEAVE A DOG OUTSIDE UNATTENDED EVER!
With the wackos and nutcases out there these days, you're asking for trouble. I know tons of people that would LOVE a free Cav.
Most medium to large sized adult dogs can handle you being gone for 9 hours. Do not get a puppy - they need to go out every 3 hours at first, and over months work up to 8-9 hours.
Cavaliers are good dogs but very expensive also. Try looking into adopting a slightly older (1-2 years old) dog at the shelter. A puppy wouldn't be a good choice since they can't hold it that long right away.
Most dogs of the average working family are left alone for that amount of time. Being left outside for 8 hrs a day will not kill the dog just make sure he has a doghouse, fresh food and water, shade and toys. What you need to consider when getting a dog is the amount of time you can give the animal for exercise, grooming and so forth not how many hrs a day the dog will be outside
a hot dog with mustard!
you should wait til summer to get the dog so you can have time to train it. It really doesn't matter what kind of dog you get.
I recommend a bull dog. They have short hair, don't need a lot of exercise and are great for people who don't spend a lot of time at home.
A goldfish or a cat.. No one is home all day, and it's likely you go out and do things in the evening.. Wait to get a dog when you are home more. Especially a puppy.. They can't be left for 8 hours straight...
Definitely a dog that can be kept outside. Not a puppy, I just got a puppy and I work and I have to go home every lunchtime to feed him. I dont mind doing it cause it was my choice to get him. But it sounds like that wont be able to happen in your case. Just remember it doesnt matter what age dog you get, you could get some toys, bones and chews to keep it busy during the day.
It is difficult to get any dog to be alone for 8-9 hours, but it will be impossible and extremely cruel to have a puppy. Just make sure you get an adult dog from the shelter...they are easier to deal with anyways since they tend to have some manners, learn quickly, and learn housetraing quickly (if they aren't already housetrained).
I don't think any specific dog is good. Your best bet is to play with each adult dog at the shelter til you find one that fits your personality, and then talk to the shelter staff ppl, because they will be able to tell you if the dog you pick will do well on his own.
A stuffed dog of any breed.
