I have a Doberman and I can't think of owning any other breed.
husky and German Shepherd mix.
I raise SAINT BERNARDS! I love them I have 17 of them matter of fact LOL
I think mix breeds and designer dogs is inhumane but that is my opinion
Rottweiller dogs are my favourite as I have had 2 and they are easy to train, loyal and very family protective as well as able to handle any situation on command. They are getting a bad rap due to the morons that sometimes buy them and use for their criminal ways. This is where you have to buy from a reputable breeder as they don't just sell anyone a dog...they check you out to make sure that you are able to be a responsible owner. My last one Jasmine was with me 13.5 years and she was truly amazing and friendly, but also very protective of anyone in our home and also for the neighbours too. All the neighbours and their kids loved her lots and she was always looking out for them as well as for us. So in my book the Rottweiller is away up there on the top dog list. I have had English Bulldogs, Poodles, Hounds and others, but as I said, Rottweiller is the one.
yorkie!!!
akitas are they are big fast powerful dogs very smart and loyal dogs the best guard dog i have ever saw
I am partial to Wiemeraners, great family dog, very smart, very easy to train, gentile, great with children and great hunters....I have a 4 year old female Wiemeraner , Shunka, she is one of the best friends that I have had, plus when I'm at work she takes my place at the home and protects the family.I payed good money 4 her, but if I could get another like her I'd pay double or triple..
I love all dogs. But I think I would have (becuase I can't have every single kind of dog,) a Norweigan Elkhound.
Short haired chihuahuas . absouloutly sweet and cute .
It depends how big the dog you want it in. But I would recommand a Bichon Frise because they don't shed and they are really playful.
OR
A Yorkie
I love all types of dogs but golden retrievers are my favorite.

I'd like to know why this question is asked so much.
Are you looking to get a dog and want to know what other people's favorite breeds are?
I love mutts. Hands down.
*Toy Poodle*
Pomeranian's, Bichon's, Shih Tzu's and Yorkie's.
I like German Shepherds, they are smart, agile, protective, great all round dogs.
Great Danes, Boxers, and Jack Russell Terriers
Well I have Boxers and Chihuahuas never really wanted either breed but now absolutely adore both. I guess my favorite breed of dog would be any dog that wags its tail at me when I get home all excited to see me. Gives me kisses when I need one and snuggles when I need that and is always insync with me just as I am with them. SO I guess any dog that loves and wants to be loved by me is my favorite breed of dog. I do desperately admire wolves though.
I've always thought that german shepards were beautiful. I've never had one though. Right now I have a 3 year old miniature dachshund who is a complete angel and 2 black lab/blue tick puppies. They're good dogs, so I suppose any breed will do, I'm not picky LOL. :)
terriers
mine is LHASA APSO, MALTESE, and SH hITZU... THEY are cute log-haired, (but a maltese isn't) and they are just the right size
I love shitzu mixed with poodle.
after owning a couple of different breeds of dog, i would have to say the maltese terrier is the best dog i've had!!! they are a great family pet, and they're good with kids!!!
Dobermans for sure :)
i like weiner dogs and pitbulls

I used to have a rat terrier. I had her for 15 years. She was my best friend.

My favorite dog is a Yorkshire Terrier. They may seem like a very fancy dog...but you know...they love to run around and chase geese!!! They look good in the show ring...and even better in the home of a loving family. They have by far the best attitude that I've ever seen. They also are an everlasting companion!!! They will stick with their owner through thick and thin. Also they know when you're sad and are very sympathetic!!! Yorkies are small dogs so they don't take up that much room!!! But look out because they have a big bark!!!
I love answers like these :)

What is your dog's name?
What is your dog's name and why did you choose that name?
Answers:
My dog is a silver miniature poodle. We got him at Christmas. I named him Frosty. For his color and after Frosty the Snowman!!
We chose Daisy. We had been thinking about Daisy for a girl puppy since we started thinking about getting a dog. Plus she is a Golden Retriever and looks like the yellow center of a Daisy! She's very sweet and people love the name.
I chose my dog's name as Oddball. He is all white, and was the odd on out all the time when he was with his litter-mates. He is JRT so it was quite unusual for him to have no markings.
i have a 15 year old dog named jake because all of our pets names start with j!,our cat named jessica and canary named jenny! lol
well i have 2 dogs one is a boy and his name is Rufus we chose that because it rimes with dufus and he sure is one. The other is sassy she is a girl and we named her sassy because of her attitude
Patrash. My old memory from childhood dog name was Patrash. St.Bernard in Swiss.
I named my golden retriever Rufus. Why? I dunno... he looked like a Rufus!
Myrin, because ist sweet!
precious, pet cemetery was the name of the dog...
creepy and awesome name
Our first dog is named : "Unique", because she IS. Our second dog was gotten as a playmate for our first dog, so HIS name is "Toy", because he is her "boy toy."
I have 3 dogs. Cynamon which is the oldest that was her name when I got her from an ex-friend. Dozer is her son, his name came from no matter how I held him he always fell asleep. And then is Bozley our Boston Terrier, I found the name online and thought he acted like a little boss even though he's real little so it stuck with him.
My dog's name is Bijou (bee-jew, and say the j soft, almost like choo) Bunny. I wanted something different, that not every dog owner has, like Fifi and Fluffy. Bunny is her middle anme, her back paws are like a rabbits. We call her Bijou, though. Her middle name is just Bunny. Lol. :]
Bijou means "Jewels" and it fits her. Before you ask HOW it fits her, you gotta know her. She's a spoiled little princess. :D She's.. idk. Fabulous. ahha.
Which one? I have 13.
I always choose a name that fits his/her personality or markings.
My baby, Howling North's Sterling Safyr was chosen because his colour is like silver and his eyes are blue like sapphires.
My Bella Arctic Rose is so pretty and has almost a pink sheen to her coat. She also is a Siberian Husky.
Just pick a name that comes to you intuitively when you watch your dog at play or while sleeping. There are not really too many wrong names out there (barring expletives).
we chose matthew it means a gift from god.he was born the same day we had to put out 13 yrl old cocker down .but we didnt know it untill the 8 weeks was up and the puppy was ready for us to bring home.when we looked on the papers we realized the puppy was born the same day of the death of our dog.we like to think of it as a gift from god and our last dog .letting us know he will still live on.and that it is ok to move on.
I have two dogs. One male and one female. The females name is Jasmine and the males name is Jasper. We didnt name them together it just kind of worked. We just sorta came up with them if that makes since. Didnt really think about it to much.
Right now I don't have a dog as I live in a tiny apartment but here are some of the names my pets have worn with at least a little bit of dignity...
Beauregard-- A Black Lab and Rhodesian ridge-back cross. He was all black except for a fine white beard and mustache. He looked like a southern gentleman so I gave him the name of one.
Useless--We found this toy poodle wandering the highway and his hair was so ratty we couldn't even identify what breed he was till we got him cleaned up and hair cut. My dad's first comment was "That is all we need, another useless dog." Dad adored him.
Blondie--My moms cocker spaniel that lived for over 20 years and even when she got hit by a car and her back broken, she never gave up and lived another 5 years.
Rhodi--Our second full blooded Rhodesian Ridge-back. She loved kittens but hated cats. and salesmen and roving preachers as well.
I like to choose name that are a bit different, and give my dog their own identity. I have "Bill", not to many dogs named Bill. A big great Pyr named after a friend that had a big white beard, and the same BIG impression on everyone. We have Shyanna, his sister, that was so shy to begin with. Zeussa, which means "cutie pie" in German, he is a little devil lhasa. Windi, a beagle/jrt mix, that runs like the wind. Chopper, like the motorcycle style, pretty cool, fast, and powerful, he is an all muscle bull terrier mix. We had Mrs. Bean, a boston/french bulldog X, she was gassie. I foster for many, many dogs, oer 300, and each dog deserves his own unique name, never Princess, Duke, Ben, Sam, or Gracie. Try something that fits them uniquely-may take a while-but fun!
JRT and his name is Jack.already had name when we got him.
My dog's name is Lucky. I chose that name because at the time I thought he was lucky but now that I think of it he's not as lucky as some dogs. But he's pretty lucky...
My 9-year-old Chihuahua's name is Hercules. I was watching Disney's "Hercules" at naming time. It was a joke of sorts because he was so tiny as a puppy!
However, he does live up to his name!
Nacho- he's a chihuahua
Cubbie- Skipperkeys look like bears
Bandit- he has rings around his eyes
We have a female black lab whose name is Duchess, cause she was bought for breeding purposes 7 years ago. We have her son, Lucky, he got his name cause he is lucky that we did not sell him like we did his siblings for chewing through the sheet rock in our duplex. And then we have Ace, my 7 year olds german shepherd. He chose that name cause it was easy for him to remember.
I have a chocolate Lab named Kiara. My daughter named her. We like unusual names for our pets. We have 3 cats: Spot, Nala, and Darva, a tarantula named Shelob, and I can never remember what she named the 2 turtles but the names are just as bizarre as the others.
jaws cause she is a boxer!
badger cause I choose it at 12am..
Minnie... after Minnie Mouse, because she is a chihuahua and has a rat tail, %26 After mini... as in tiny... she only weighs 2 lbs
Our Chihuahua is Stanly T. Goodpuppy. We got him when he was 15 weeks old.
His groomer named him Stanly, she said, "he just looks like a Stanly," and we thought, you know, she's right, he does look like a Stanly. (My brother picked the spelling, rather than the traditional "Stanley." He thought it looked better.)
The T. stands for Trouble, because he was a little trouble-maker from the get-go. He wouldn't use his pee-pads, he would tear them to shreds. The first three weeks were a constant battle. No worries, though. We changed to litter training him, and he learned in just two days, less than 48 hours to litter train him. We thought about changing his middle name to Einstein, but decided to go with just the T.
And the Goodpuppy? Well, despite the trouble training him, he really was a good puppy. He wasn't trying to be trouble, he just didn't understand that people have different rules than dogs have. And he wanted to please us, he did catch on pretty fast, except for the potty training. He was really good around strangers, even young children, as a young puppy, and he was loving but not overly protective, as some Chihuahuas can be. We think he earned his last name.
I have a yorkie and his name is Kobe and I'm not sure why we named him that.
I also have an American Pitbull Terrier and his name is Trill- which means True or real and we chose that because he's that's what he is.
a chihuahua that looks like a min pin but smaller
her name is Miley Mouse, I wanted a tom boy name and it was between Miley and Riley and nobody else in my house liked Riley, I originally named her Lacey but it just didn't fit her.
Shunka Satin...4 year old wiemeraner....translates in{Lakota} to dog of satin.. when she was a puppy she felt just like satin, now just her ears do..This is the best dog I have seen great with m 5 kids and an awesome hunter.I payed 500.00 4 her and I would do so with out batting an eye again if I could get the same dog...This dog is almost perfect...
CHOPPER!
he is a beagle/lab mix about 12 weeks old. and he is living up to his name! my boyfriend and i are fans of bike riding so we thought we'd name him something special to us.
Pugsley because she's a pug and Roxy because I liked the name. It seemed to suit her a little.

What is your dogs name?
If you have a dog what is its name? I have a 9 year old golden Lab called Frodo and in a few weeks am getting a black Lab puppy, going to call it Amelie.I'd just be interested to know what other people call their dogs and if theres a story behind the name?

Hi! I have a rescue centre so I've always got a lot of animals coming and going, therefore I find it helpful to have themes when naming animals and I've taken that over to my own pets too. My dogs are always named after plants - until November I had a Bracken and a Tansy, then Tansy had pups who we called Hazel, Douglas (Fir) and then the break to my rules ... Dougal, but even he is really named after a plant, the tallest tree in Britain is called Dughall Mor or Big Dougal - anyway thats how I keep up with naming loads of pets!!! Amelie is a lovely name btw. Just incase you were wondering; rabbits are usually named after pop stars, rats have "normal human" names (Brian and Andrew were the last in,) mice are named after sports players, hamsters current events - we still have Katrina who came in the day New Orleans was hit by the hurricane, ferrets are cartoon charecters, caged birds are named after charecters from TV comedies and I get my little sister to come up with names for the chickens - so far we have Charlie, Rebbecca, Ollie and Crazy - no theme at all there! Cats on the other hand seem to end up with what ever name suits them!
Hope I haven't bored you to death!!!

I have a 2 year old border collie. His name is Paddy. Hubby has irish roots and we liked the name.
Squishy.
I have two dogs, a boy called Luca and a girl called Pimm
my German shepherd's name is Baron.
I have a Shih Tzu called Alfie...just cos it suited him.
He also reminds me of the bloke in the film Alfie, tries to nail any female that moves,,,,,,including the cat.
Jess - a gorgeous Staffie
I used to have Radar - because his ears stuck right up and turned around to catch sounds.
I also had Porkie - because he was just like a little pig when he was a puppy. Radar and Porkie were Yorkies.
Thanks for that question, it has bought my beloved dogs right into my mind and made me smile in memory of them.
:))))
I have a 1 year old Rottweiler called Riley,
I chose it because most Rottweilers are called tyson, or bruce or something!!
Plus i got the name from homeward bound! I loved that film!
Ricky
we have two female Jack Russel Terriers called Meg and Scully
I had a Boxer named Rascal. He was into everything ever since he was born. Smartest dog I ever did see.
Mindy (Mini-minz)- Black female Cockerspaniel
I have a beagle and his name is Rusty, he got his name because he has brown spots on legs and muzzle and they look like rust spots.
I have a bernese moutain dog called Roxy. Before we had seen her we had reduced it down to 2 names - Roxy and Kayley. When we saw her, she was the biggest pup in the litter and was roughing up the other pups. We thought Kayley was much too delicate for out 'butch' pup. Roxy sounded more of an 'attitude' name.
If I had a dog it would be a Husky and i would name him/her LOBO. After the mexican wolf and after former UCONN huskey Rebecca Lobo.
We had an English Bull Terrier whom we named Lennon, as my partner is a hugh John Lennon fan, and the name John wasnt very original for our dog! When we got the dog we have now, we called her Nel, because Nel spells Len,backwards, which is what we sometimes called Lennon, our first dog, for short, sorta like a tribute to him!
a have a Staffordshire bull terrier called storm. because his fathers pedigree name was lets rock the boat and his pedigree name is storm warning and i also have a cavalier king charles named molly, no particular reason for her name, just easy for my daughter to pronounce as she was only 2 1/2 when we got her
Angel who is a pug, got her 2 years ago and that was her name then kept it coz she is !! However i do have nicknames for her as well - Mrs P (P for pug) or sometime just P ! LOL
doggy
I have a dog called charlie but she had her name before we got her.
I used to have 2 dogs called eric and ernie (ie morcombe and wise) ernie was a jack russell and eric was a boxer so ernie had short fat hairy legs (some people will get the joke)
We also had 2 cats called Frankie and Johnny. we did think frankie was a girl until he developed some rather large growths in between his leg. He is still the most beautiful lookign boy cat in the world
"Sandra" - An alsatian beach (3 years old).
i dont have a dog, but my neighbour has a spaniel called roxy and my friend has a golden retriever called sam and someone else has a st. bernard called precious.

Ginger... she came with that name. We had another dog named Deedle. My daughter named him that because of the sound he made as he ran around the house. ;-))
Ah, cute! I'm a Lord of the Rings fan. =P
I had a chow/pit mix dog, extremely intelligent, but he died a year ago from heartworm treatment. =( He was my brother. And his name was Strider. His name was from what they call Aragorn on LOTR.
I currently have 2 dogs. A husky/chow/pit mix named Steele. He looks just like a husky except he's smaller. I got his name from the dog 'Steele' who plays on Balto b/c he looks like him.
And I also have a black lab mix (she looks mainly like a black lab) and I named her Nighque (Ny-coo) b/c she's black as 'night' and has 'unique' markings. So I combined the 2 words and, well, there ya' go. =)
