What is the best time for puppies to be trained?

Answers:
right now!! if u dont well look at it this way in the future when your dog is 3 years old and u wont be able to teach do you want im pooping and peeing in your house, or chew everything in sight. that old saying you cant teach an old dog new tricks is right! if you wait even 1 1/2 years old your dog will not feel like learning because it has already developed bad habits. you dont even need to take classes. when i got my dog it was 8 months old it was completely trained by the next month and i did it all myself. also it had nothing at alll for earlier training so i had to start from scratch. by the firs week shewasnt useing the house for a bathroom anymore by the second week it knew sit and stay by the third week it was almost completely trained. use the rewards system everytime it does the right thing give it a treat. if it does something wrong dont hit it or it will keep doing it. just say NO in a stern voice then ignore it for the next few minuets. hope this information helped. if you need anymore help e-mail me at drthscion@yahoo.com
when there 1 year old
ASAP! The longer you wait the worse it can get. Look into classes now!!! You can start potty training this minute too!
right away when you get them... or if they are just born your going to have to wait a little while.
It's NEVER to early to teach them. Otherwise, if you wait too long they will develop bad habits and you will have a dog that is out of control like mine. I sure could use some help from the Dog Whisperer.
The best time for puppies to be trained is when they are 14 weeks old, it is always good to start as early as possible.
i think the younger the better
I would train your puppy about a week after you get it. Then, it would be used to new surroundings. It would be 9 weeks old then. Start taking it outside until it does its business. Then reward him. For commands, like sit, lay down, ect. take some treats and give the comand. Sit is good to start with. Push down his botoom, say sit, and give him a treat. Basically, start training at about 9 weeks.
Depends on what you mean.. Housetraining and puppy like stuff.. no biting, leash, manners, basic stuff.. Right now..
NOW! Start early and do it right. No violence. No hitting, no pushing noses into poop or any of that cave era stuff. Get a good, current training book or look into classes. Petsmart offers reasonably priced classes if you have one in your area.
From the day one you get them, and continues throughout entire life.
Training starts the moment you bring them home. The basics first then off to obedience school when old enough at 10 or 11 weeks old.
as soon as possible
now, don't wait be patient but firm. and consistent all times. What may seem mean is in my opinion is nec. asert yourself as dominate over them. afterwards( a year ) you'll thank yourself. Dogs can be hammerheads It depends on the personality.
The best time to train a puppy is ALL the time! : )

They are just like children - they're constantly learning.

Formal puppy school (obedience training) can start as early as 8 weeks.

Housebreaking can start immediately. I've had great success with crate training my puppy. She learned at an early (6 weeks) age that her crate was her 'house' and not to do her business in her house. Now, when I head out somewhere, she goes to her house with her toys and seems to have a great time.

Good luck with your puppy. I wish you both a long %26 happy time together! : )
training starts very early - housebreaking, house manners, etc. etc. etc.
We started training our dog as soon as we got her home in regards to potty training, letting her know what was good behavoir vs bad behavoir and having her learn her name, where she was sleeping, where her crate was, etc.. .We also got her into puppy training classes at about 15 weeks, after she was through with all of her shots/vaccinations, etc. It looks to me that for tricks, basic commands, etc many trainers think 4 months is about the right time to get that going...
If they're under seven weeks, you are going to have to wait awhile. Normally, a mother dog will be the one to 'teach' them what is and what is not okay to do until puppies go to their new homes, around seven to twelve weeks old(Small breed pups must be kept with their breeder longer like ten to twelve weeks because of their size and fragility). Otherwise, begin training a puppy as soon as you get him. Housebreaking, collar/lead training, the pup's name(What you call the pup when talking to him like with commands), and the sit command should be the first things taught. Puppies have low attention spans, so keep training sessions short and fun. Positive renforcement training, which means rewarding the dog for when he does good things, is the most humane training method. And remember this: a Siberian Husky will not be as socialble or obediant as a Golden Retriever. Breed matters in trainability and temperment to a degree!
i start training mine when i get them.some people recommend that you don't start training them until they are 12 weeks old.
