What is the best way to get de-skunk my dog, besides tomato?

We tried tomato juice, suace, and paste...no avail! I though maybe dish soap bc skunk spay is oily and the dish soap should pull out the oil? She is a mini pin, that being said she is a house dog and she cant come back in till she smells right..

Any other remedies?

Actually, this works really well. Mix1 quart 3% hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda and 1 teaspon liquid soap (dish soap). Bath your dog, working it into the coat. Rinse really well. You need to discuard any unused formula becuae a chemical reaciton could potentially make the container explode.
MalAcetic or Skunk Off shampoo should do the trick! :)
You can get it here: http://www.petsupplies4less.com...

Good luck!
Look for a product called "Skunk-off" it comes as a shampoo or a liquid that can be rubbed on the pet. GOOD LUCK!
I think there is special shampoos at PetSmart for that. Sorry your min-pin got sprayed.
type removing skunk odor in your search engine -- there is a recipe for something using hydrogen peroxide and something that really works.

Good luck!
There is a product called OdorXit Concentrate available on the net that does the job quickly and easily. It doesn't matter if you have a dog, cat, car, garage, porch, yard, or you with skunk smell. This stuff just works and at only $2.50 per ounce of concentrate it鈥檚 really cheap since you only need 2 or 3 ounces to do a large dog.

After washing and rinsing the dog or simply hosing off the car, wet the affected area with OdorXit Concentrate diluted 1 part concentrate to 30 parts water. You can spray the solution on anything but the dog. Remember his last experience with spraying was not exactly a pleasant one.
In just a few minutes, the odor will be gone.

It also works on porches, garages, clothing, and you!
buy natures miracle at the pet store. It works.
They sell stuff at pet stores "Skunk-off" is a good one. But then even after I did that I squeezed orange and lemon juice on my pet after. It worked. The citrus acid really worked.
We had a 135 Rot get into it with a skunk. We use Douche (feminine hygiene product) on the dog. Rinse and scrub and repeat. Took it right out!
If you are going to use dish soap, use Dawn. It is the hardest on grease/oil and is what they use on animals who have been slimed by oil spills.

Also, try this website, it offers some great info:

Some highlights:

Determine where the spray hit the dog. Depending on your dog's hair type, you may be able to trim away or comb out some of the affected hair.

When you're ready to wash the dog, only clean the sprayed area. Skunk spray is oily and can easily be spread all over the dog. You will most likely have to give the dog more than one bath, so save an all-over bath until the second or third washing.

It may be particularly hard to get the odor out of those dogs who have thick double coats. If quick action is not taken it is possible to smell the odor on your dog for up to two years, especially when the dog gets wet.

They recommend store bought cleaners like:

Nature's Miracle Skunk Odor Remover
Earth Friendly Skunk Odor Remover

Man, I don't envy you at all. Last week, my puppy got into a pile of rotting fishworms and stunk to high heaven. A few baths and some groomer's cologne took care of it though.

Hope you have as much luck with your stink as I had with mine =)
Using tomato juice will only give you a red dog. That stuff doesn't work..it's an old wives tale

Use this recipe
1 quart 3% Hydrogen Peroxide
1/4 cup Baking Soda
1 teaspoon liquid soap (Dawn)
Mix in a bucket (it will fizz).
Soak your dog's fur, but be careful not to get any in his eyes.
Use a sponge to clean off his head and around his eyes.
Toss out anything left over..DO NOT STORE.
