What is the best breed of dog that is good but dosent cost that much>?
Answers:
Even if you get the dog for free, count on over $1000 annually in upkeep on any dog for the next 15-20 years. They're all expensive
A shelter dog! Adopt- there are plenty of great animals out there just waiting for a home, and it is also the most economical choice.
The best breed of dog is the mutt. you can get them at any local animal shelter.

Some of the best dogs are mutts and even if you get one at your local animal shelter your saving a life...but in my experience your labs are the most loyal but if your looking for something smaller maybe a terrier
A mutt from the humane society.
The purebred or mixed breed dog from the shelter that is an awesome dog but needs a good home. Go to www.petfinder.com and see what's available.
Don't buy a dog from a breeder. Get a pound puppy. Adopt a pet-its better for pets and you.
go to petfinder.com and search for one
You might consider getting a dog from
the shelter.
They could use your love and they're
cheap.
Just pay for the kennel fees and the shots.
A regular old mutt is the best and usually the smartest dogs i have ever had. You can get free ones in your local newspaper just ask alot of questions of the owners. like why are they getting rid of it. does it get aggressive , bite ask all kinds of questions. The animal shelters are good place to find one too. Ask them questions too. That way you have a small ideal of what to expect from the dog. Because your life style is diffrent from other peoples.
If you have a particular breed in mind, almost all (if not all) of them have rescue groups. Just pick a breed that appeals to you and do a search, such as "Lab Rescue" or something along those lines. It's more reasonable financially speaking and you are giving a home to a dog that really needs one.
And like everyone else said, mutts are usually the best dogs to go for. They have less medical problems and come in all different beautiful shapes and sizes...and they aren't expensive. My dog is a mutt and I think he is one of the most beautiful dogs I have ever seen.
Anyway, best of luck!
It depends on what you need from a dog...if you are an avid fitness fan, and want your dog to accompany you on outdoor excursions, then try to stick with a large, athletic breed, such as a lab mix, or german shepherd mix.
If you are a sedentary person, then you might look into a small "toy" breed dog. They can get lots of their exercise running around your house, and don't need as much outdoor exercise.
If you are worried about a dog making excessive noise, it might be a good idea to stay away from husky mixes and hound mixes.
The best place to get an inexpensive dog is through your local humane society or animal shelter. You will spend less than $100 on average. Make sure you keep in mind that the average dog will cost you $500 to $1000 a year to care for...and that's being careful and budgeting well.
a shelter dog!!! they dont cost much and you get a lot. plus you will be saving the dogs life! Go to your local animal shelter and see what dog catches your eye.. take the dog out and play with it. pits and Shepard's are great dogs! I have two pits and a shepard...they are the best, all adopted from the shelter.
adopt a shelter dog, you'll feel great for saving it. they are cheap (sometimes even free), and almost everyone i know got there dog from a pound, and they are all great, i have a purebread though, i got him from a breeder. get a pound puppy.
If you're concerned about price, I'd say you're at a juncture in your life where you could not afford to properly care for a dog. My dog costs me approximately $1,000 dollars every year, and that is not counting any unforseen medical problems that may occur in the future. That adds up to anywhere from $15,000-$20,000 during a dog's lifetime.
When you are ready for this kind of financial commitment, please save a life and adopt a shelter pup!
I have worked with animals for 10 years now, started at an animal clinic, then to a humane society and also trained therapy dogs. In my experience your best bet is a mutt, adopt a dog from your local animal shelter. I have a 400$ lhasa apso and she has tons of problems, shes had a tonsilectomy, severe allergies with her skin, ears. I also have a mutt I take her to the vet once a year for shots other than that nothing!!! Your pure bred dogs alot of times come from puppy mills which is massive imbreeding and causes sever health problems! One of the best tempermented dog in a shelter is anything with a beagle or lab mix! Good luck
If you don't want to spend a lot of money, go rescua a dog from the shelter. It'll make you feel good that you saved a dog and money.
All dogs are expensive, you have to figure that in the first few weeks you will spend about $300 on vaccinations, spay or neutering, and then food and toys. After that you can expect to spend about $200-$300 a year on vet bills and about $30-$40 a month on food and supplies
