What is the best cure for a 10 month old pitbul suffering from hyperacidity.?

i have a 10 month old pitbull who does not have the appetite to eat. since he is not eating the normal way, he is vomitting a yellowish colored liquid. Tho' he drinks lots of water. He eats cracker and biscuit once in awhile. Before his vet prescribed him Tagamet. Am not sure if it's ok if i give him the same medicine. I need an expert advise if possible a vet. Please help.
Answers:
i would contact the vet about the dosage, but other than making sure there isnt anything else wrong, tagament would be fine. we were perscribed it for ours reciently as well (different condition tho)
If a dog keeps vomitting bile (yellow) he needs to see a vet.

If your vet can't fix the problem, get a 2nd opinion.

He is still a puppy, and it is vital that he keeps his food down. Also cracker and biscuit are not the right diet for a growing pup.

Has he had a gastroscopy?
Tagamet is sold OTC in the states. It works well for stomach problems. You could give it according to weight to your dog safely.
The question is. Why is he throwing up? Is it a constant problem? Does he have diarrhea? Has he ever been vaccinated against parvo? Has he been checked for a pyloric stenosis?
The cause of the problem warrants further investigation. It may be simply that he chewed up something that upset his stomach or it may be parvo which will kill him if it's not treated. You need to see a vet for a thorough work up on the dog.
