Labrador Retrievers! I have owned several breeds and although I loved each dog I never fell in love with a breed until I got Labs. They are the most affectionate, devoted, loyal, intelligent, fun going, happy, versatile dogs. It is easy to why they are the most common breed in service work. Their favorite thing to do is just to be with you. I take my Lab kayaking, hiking, camping, swimming, sledding, snowmobling, to parties and bascically where ever. They have the greatest temperments, and are easy to train. My 2 year old yellow know over 75 words and commands and we are inseperable.
a dashund. It really depends on your lifestyle. I wanted a small "inside dog" that I could take running with me.
I'm partial to golden retrievers. They're smart, loving, adorable! Highly recommend you look into them IF you'll be home to take care of a puppy- they're very social and do better with humans around.
A live one. Dead dogs ain't no fun.

I love my weimerainer he is protective, playful, energetic, loving, and beautiful.
The best kind of dog in my opinion is a Golden Retriever. They are nice, VERY love-able, and the perfect size. GREAT for any age!
boxers they are good with chidren but not good with other boxer males
It really depends on your lifestyle. I live on a beach and go running most days, I have 2 beautiful dobermans that enjoy the 'action' and outdoors!

I was looking for a big dog that liked to play, but was also pretty calm and easily trainable. I found a flat-coated Retriever mix up for adoption and he is awesome! I am a single mom and work full-time and I've onlt had him a month. He's already house broken, knows paw, sit, and it great with people! He is also a very loyal dog and is great with people! You should look them up online. I wasn't familiar with them, but they seem to be great dogs and are really beautiful as well!
And if you're thinking of getting a dog, I would recommend getting one from a shelter or on petfinder.com. their are soooo many dogs out there that need homes!
Because there are shelter dogs everywhere, there is usually one that is a perfect match for anyone looking for a companion dog. The best kind of dog is the one that fits your lifestyle.
But in my honest opinion, Working, Sporting, and Herding breeds are the best kind of dogs. The ones that perform and work for me fit my lifestyle best.

All dog breeds are great, but in my opinion, I Love Chihuahuas!
pugs becuase they are very cute and border terriers because they are not that common, but very cute and small!
