What kind of dog do you guys think that are the easiest to keep and maintain but are still friendly?

Answers:
stuffed ones.they don't shed...drool...eat..poop no vet trips.they just need a needle and thread and are always there for a cuddle. lol.

really though none. they all need groomed...either just brushed or to a groomer for a cut. they all shed...even the poodle. and any dog can be friendly.it depends on the ppl who raise and care for the dog. dogs need rules just like kids to be friendly.evrything is learned.
Jack Russell Terrier
It depends on the breed, but after that it will also depend on the owner. Dogs take on their owner's stress if there is any. They react to it. The lower the stress level the friendlier the dog.
Border Terrier.

Spirited, active and friendly. They are small, but they behave like a large dog. They tend not to be aggressive, unlike other terriers.

They are easy to take care of. They don't require frequent baths. Short haired, not a lot of shedding to deal with. The breed standard is to leave them in their natural state, so no need to take them to the doggie salon, etc.
Go to iams.com... they have a worksheet page where you can mark what you want and don't want from a dog, what needs you're willing to meet.
boxer, but check out animalplanet.com as they have ratings dogs in terms of friendliness, maintenance, health etc. It's a good guide before you get one.
Dachshunds! The best though is probably Retrievers. I have had 3 retrievers through my life and 1 dachshund. Both were always friendly...never was there any biting, snapping and barley any barking. They are both very easy to train, and both work well w/children.
Well I have one and he is a 2 year old male Standard Poodle

They are very smart and very easy to train and more like people than most dogs. They do pretty much anything and usually well, they have only one main draw back IMHO that people talk about and that is the grooming. Well it is not that hard to learn how to shave down a poodle once a month and bath for a minimum. Or you could learn how to grow and maintain a show coat on a standard and it could be work nearly every day but worth it.

My standard is training in Agility, Flyball, Obedience, Rally-O, tricks, tracking, Skijouring and being an all round good dog. He loves people and all other dogs and he is a great house dog very well behaved inside and full of energy outside able to run with almost any dog. He is 26inches high at the withers and he weighs 55lbs but he looks much bigger since I like keeping him with more hair, it is interesting to see how many people think he is scary so he make an efficient watch/guard dog too.
No dog is easy to maintain. They cost hundreds to buy and thousands to look after. The most popular breed is the Labrador Retriever. Very friendly, affectionate and loving. They need a lot of exercise (2 walks for an hour each time) and a lot of food. They are great pets if you have children but are very bouncy as pups so you shouldn't leave him alone with a small child. They also shed BUCKET loads! They have a few serious genetic health problems; hip and elbow dysplasia and PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy) so buying him from a reputable breeder is a must. Go to the AKC website ( http://www.akc.org ) or the Labrador Retriever Club of America ( http://www.thelabradorclub.com ) to find a good breeder and to research the breed. http://www.dogbreedinfo.com is also a good website to research breeds of dogs.
One from a animal shelter, they are often already housebroken, medically utd, friendly and past the terrible puppy phase.
