What kind of dog is it easiest to teach it to do tricks?

Answers:
lab or border collie or a collie they are all very good dogs but get it as a puppy and rasie it that way theys dogs are very good at listen to there owners
Australian shepards and border collies
I'd have to say that Jack Russels are pretty good "trick dogs". I have one, and she is very easy to train and very smart. I also knew a man who had a Jack that was his sidekick in Rodeos (he was a Rodeo Clown) and this dog was amazing!
I think is Jack Russell. Quite active and able to listen for attention.
american pitbull terrier. very, very smart animal.
Something to keep in mind, smart dogs are generally hyper dogs. You have to have some serious patients and athletism (or at least a big yard) to properly take care of one.
A dog that is highly motivated. Retrievers, labs and Goldens are usually pretty highly motivated by food and tennis balls.

Border Collies are the top dog used by competition people who care about winning.
Poodles are very smart and learn quickly.
I raise and breed shepherds, but the quickest two dogs I've ever owned as far as learning tricks - siberian husky. Once the trick is learned and no longer new, they tend to do it when they feel like it (or for a piece of cheese). My female husky is especially bright, she can learn a new trick in minutes. For a day or two she loves showing off her new trick, but after that I have to do the cheese bribe.
Any dog who likes food and who is encouraged to 'experiment' with behaviors (called 'shaping' by clicker trainers) can learn tricks. A Google search for Virginia Broitman and Sherri Lippman, and "clicker shaping behaviors" should get you started.
I do not recommend running out and getting a Jack Russell because it will learn tricks easily. These are high drive dogs who end up in shelters because they are too much for people who would like to relax once in a while. Please, do your homework before getting a dog.
A herding dog, because they are bred to make decisions and do lots of "tricks" like getting 30 angry cows under control without getting kicked in the head!

Look up Austrlain Shepherds, Border Collies, Shelties, Blue Heelers, etc...
