Sammy looks to be a very special breed. One that many people would love to have, but only a few people ever truly do.
He is your Soul Dog! You knew it the moment you saw him, but didn't realize it. The "breed" of this special dog isn't important and I think, by your description of him, that you already know this in your heart.
But you are hoping to find out what breed he might be...
My best guess would be a border collie cross. They are wonderful dogs that love to work and be with their family.

Looks to me like a border collie, possibley lab, maybe some akita (because of the tail), and possibley an austailian cattle dog. Whatever he/she is its a total cutie! But ldefiantly border collie!
Well, it looks like a mid-size dog. Possibilities are fox terrier, jack russell terrier, and border mix. It definitely looks like he's got some terrier in him.
